At Hellen Tolcher's Performance Academy, we offer Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Junior Street Dance, Singing and Drama lessons from ages as young as 2.5 years and up.
Of course we want our students to grow as technical performers, developing their skills throughout the years and watching them achieve things beyond their wildest dreams; however our first and foremost priority is that everyone enjoys and loves what they do! All teachers at HTPA put 110% into making their classes fun as well as rewarding.
We aim to put on a showcase at least every 2 years. Getting the students onstage doing what they love in front of their loved ones will give them a feeling like no other, encouraging them to be proud of their achievements and inspiring them to push onwards and upwards.
We also offer internal assessments for dance, singing and acting. We believe it is important to give our students the option to work towards something and face inspiring challenges. Click here to read more.

Miss Hellen - Owner and Head of Dance
Hi everyone, it’s Miss Hellen here!I have had over 20 years of dance training covering styles such as Ballet, Tap, Modern/ Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial. I trained at the University of Chichester Conservatoire and graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre Performance in 2019 so also have lots of experience in acting and gained some singing technique during my years at Chichester as well.
I have had both training and professional work in Dance, Musical Theatre and Acting for Film since I was young - so performing on stage as well as up close and personal / on camera are 2 things I have experience in. My main priority will be to encourage students to really perform and enjoy their experience both in the classroom and on stage - technique is wonderful, but performance and having fun makes all the difference!
I have around 10 years teaching experience as I volunteered as an assistant dance teacher in my teenage years and often covered classes before I trained at Chichester. I have been able to work with children with special needs and sometimes gave 1 to 1 attention when I was an assistant. After graduating I became a dance teacher at the Jill Galloway School of Dance - now known as HTPA! I have been teaching here since 2020.
Mr Luke - Singing & Drama Coach
Hi I’m Mr Luke, I’m an independent Entertainer, Artist, Filmmaker and Events Producer based in Milton Keynes. I’ve been performing for over 20 years with nearly 10 of those in professional settings.
My Roots were grown in local choirs, concerts and dramatic performances. At the age of 18 I left Studies with A Levels in Theatre, Music Production & Technology and an English Language course that focused heavily on Dramatic Art, and headed into the Immersive Theatre and Events industry gaining valuable experience both in roles on stage and backstage. From leading roles in theatrical productions, singing and entertaining in some of the countries top attractions, to operating lighting and sound design behind the scenes, I’ve built a tailored career path in most areas of The Arts and a gained a wealth of working knowledge in what it takes to create and manage productions as well as my own business which supplies bespoke and themed entertainment and events for a variety of venues and alternate settings.
From 2017- to early 2021 I successfully ran all of the Youth Theatre Programmes at Stantonbury Theatre until the Pandemic sadly halted our work. Im excited to be back working for a new independent ran, homegrown business here at HTPA and looking forward to coaching and enhancing the performance capabilities of your budding Actors and Singers.
I have experience working with young children, teenagers and those with special needs. This means that especially in 1 to 1 singing lessons I can adapt the class to suit each child’s specific needs.
